EVERYTHING PREVIEWS
Booking Your Hair & Makeup Preview
Once you’ve secured your wedding date with Onsite Beauty Artistry, it’s time to start gathering inspiration for your hair and makeup preview. Please note, previews are only available for booked brides in Washington.

Hair and makeup previews are essential to set the tone for your wedding day and to help us get to know each other better. It’s also a great opportunity to ask any questions that are easier to discuss in person. We schedule previews 1-2 months before your wedding, and we’ll reach out about three months prior to your wedding day to book your appointment with your Lead Artist.

Previews are typically scheduled Tuesday-Thursday, depending on your Lead Artist’s availability. Fridays through Mondays are less likely to be available, especially during peak season (May-October), as we’re often booked for weddings or need time to recover from busy weekends.
Expect your preview to take between 1.5 to 3 hours, as we’ll take time to make adjustments and go over all the details.

HOW TO PREPARE
First Things First: Say Yes to the Dress!
Knowing the style, color, and neckline of your wedding dress is key to choosing the right hair and makeup for your big day. Be sure to have a photo of your dress on your phone to share with your Lead Artist during your preview.

Planning any major changes, like hair color, extensions, eyebrow waxing, or a spray tan? We recommend doing these services before your preview. This way, we can see how the final look comes together and ensure you're 100% happy with everything. Plus, it reduces stress on your wedding day by getting everything finalized in advance!

HAIR & MAKEUP PREPARATION
Hair Preparation
Arrive with clean, dry hair (unless you’re getting a blowout) and aim for smooth, frizz-free strands. We recommend washing and drying the night before your wedding day—this helps your style hold better than freshly washed hair.
For smooth styling, apply a frizz-fighting product like AIIR Smoothing Cream while blow-drying. Avoid using hair oils to manage frizz, as they can damage hair when used with hot tools. Also, avoid using coconut oil or any other kitchen oils on your hair within a week of the wedding. We’ll have professional products on hand to perfect your look!

Makeup Preparation:
The Night Before Your Makeup Service: Wash, exfoliate, and moisturize your skin. If your skin is very dry, try a physical exfoliant and follow up with a rich moisturizer or hydrating sheet mask to boost hydration.

The Morning of Your Service: Wash and moisturize only. Well-prepped, smooth, and hydrated skin helps your makeup look flawless and last longer. Avoid using SPF with Zinc Oxide or Titanium Oxide, as these can cause flashback in photos, making you look washed out.

OLIVEDA is a holistic skin care line we recommend to all clients and use within our makeup kits.

WHAT TO BRING
Gather Inspiration Photos
Collect 3-5 inspiration photos for both your hair and makeup. When choosing hair looks, try to pick styles that suit your natural length, texture, and color. Check out our Instagram and Pinterest for ideas, as these can give you plenty of options.
Keep in mind that many Pinterest photos are edited, taken in ideal lighting, and often include hair extensions.

Bridal Accessories
If you plan on adding accessories to your hairstyle, bring them to your preview. We’ll help with placement to avoid any issues, as moving them around can cause your hair to shift. If you don’t have accessories yet, we also have options available for you to try or purchase with us.

Wear a Similar Top
When you come for your preview, wear a top that has a similar neckline and color to your wedding dress. This will help you get a better idea of how the hair and makeup will pair with your dress on the big day.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Your Preview Appointment at our Seattle Studio
When you arrive to the studio for your preview, your Lead Artist will greet you, get you settled, offer a beverage, and start the process. Be open and honest with your Lead Artist about what you love, what you don’t like, and everything in between! We want this to be an easy, comfortable process for you.
Remember, beauty is an art, not an exact science. We’ll work with your style preferences and our professional experience to create the look you want. Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts—we’re here to listen and make adjustments. If we need to make changes, it might cause some messier makeup or frizzier hair, but don’t worry—we’ll make everything perfect for the wedding day!

Once the preview is complete, the total service amount will be due. We accept all major debit/credit cards and cash (Venmo, Cash App, and checks are not accepted).
